T.S.M. - The Student Matters, is an English language school based in Eastbourne on the picturesque South Coast of England
T.S.M. specialises in Phonetics as well as Communications skills for international students aiming to boost English language knowledge and give much needed confidence.
The school attracts students from as far afield as Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Russia and has a reputation of operating friendly and informative class sessions with students and group leaders coming back year after year.
T.S.M. was founded in July 2000 by its Principal Clarice Wallis.
Originally from Brazil, Clarice trained as an Interpreter and Translator specialising in the fields of Medical Research and Technology utilising her Portuguese, Spanish and English.
She left Brazil in 1992 and spent the next year travelling around the world experiencing different cultures and languages before settling in the UK.
Clarice then qualified to the British Council highest requirements for the teaching of English obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Grad. Dip. TESOL).
All teachers at T.S.M. are qualified and experienced to at the least the minimum standards required. We are proud of our level of care. All TSM staff takes a continuous interest in the welfare of its students by providing exceptional care and attention at all times. This is done through direct contact with group leaders, a 24 hour emergency telephone number, contact with Homestay Providers and being available to students.

To celebrate a milestone 40th Birthday, Clarice has vowed to help underprivileged children in her native Brazil and has set up a special Charity Project. “It is important to me to put something back into the community and extend the arm of friendship from country to country”, explains Clarice.
